We are buying our house in Southaven, MS from a government agency, H.U.D., the Department of Housing & Urbin Development to be exact. We had only 48 hours to put in our bid & gather $1000. This was done on 22 Sept., In the next day or 2 we were told we had won the bid & that we would probably be able to move in at least by the end of October. I even turned in my 30 day notice on Sept. 24, saying I'd be out of here by Oct.31. But now HUD is dragging it's feet. They were supposed to have closed on the house BY today. Every time that we or our realtor calls them, they say that they are working on it & will email us the papers in a day or two. Grrrrrr! My ex daughter in law & her hubby were to go up this week, on her "vacation" to put down flooring, have appliances installed & utilitys turned on. So much for making plans.

Boy you have been so pumped about this! Leave it to a government run company to drag their feet and get lost in the mounds of red tape. Keep thinking positive if you can...this to shall pass!

that is frustrating. We were trying to buy a house in WA and it took 8 months then they said we were bought out. So frustrating. I loved that house too. I hope things go faster soon for you. Blessings, Jetta
