I am making myself accountable. This blog is my contract to drink no alcohol for 30 days. I actually started on 8/19, so its been 4 days into it already. This isn't a big issue for me, but I love a glass of wine or 2 or beer on the weekends (never more as I hate getting drunk). My rationale for making this is to see if it makes any difference in my weight. While I lost over 30 lbs last year, I included some alcohol in small quantities if my caloric intake allowed it. But since then, I slacked off and got into pre-weight loss habits (in my eating too), like buying a six pack of beer on friday and finishing it by Sunday between me and my husband. Beer makes me feel bloated and wine makes my feet swell and I think it makes my Sunday long runs difficult. I think that alcohol in any quantity is contributing to my cravings for sugar and junk. So time to put myself to the test. Will not having any alcohol make a difference in my weight and eating habits? I'll let you know.
