A gloomy day today, but I like gloom and there are some good things piling up (which means hideous things are close at hand).
Starting out small, I changed my desktop wallpaper to a black and white foggy cliff top reminiscent of "Rebecca".
Seemingly miniscule, but "big" to me: I lost two pounds even. I was just gaining weight after losing a literal buttload (similar to a stone), so to me, huge, no pun intended.
This guy had part of his tail cut off and they thought he might have more cancer. My cuz wrote he was "cancer free" on my wall today. Poor boy is intent on ripping out his stitches.
I drove to Devil's Lake and saw some nice foliage and frolicking. No rattlers, but I did come across a grass snake at Governor Nelson last week (that's a very good thing).
Finally saw the latest Harry Potter movie and enjoyed it while I was watching, but left feeling a little cheated. I hadn't been to the movies in a very long time. I think they're too expensive and the ratio of annoying audience members to you is high—if it's you and one other person, chances are they'll be on their cell phone, rattle popcorn seeds, and shake a big gulp's worth of ice throughout the film.
My favorite is the guy who gets out his car keys during the big climax and starts to twirl them until the closing credits. Where is he going? Why doesn't he just leave? Why now? Why didn't I stay home?
Good: Lost 2 pounds even
Bad: Am eating an "early lunch" which means a second "late lunch" too close to breakfast which included noshing on pumpkin pie from the pie tin and cold bbq pork ribs as I write this entry
Good: I planned that meal with beef ribs and many a vege
Bad: That doesn't really change anything
Good: Cujo the chocolate lab is cancer free
Bad: He needs to see a dietitian and get his own blog on Spark
