Quote For The Week

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.
- George Washington Carver

I just got this in one of my emails today...and wow...does it hit home... i have gained 4 lbs over the last couple house has gone down hill...and my quitting smoking...yea... right...and the money problems keep escalating... i can give you a hundred excuses for each of these... and valid ones at that...but the fact of the matter is happens... and the only way it's going to change is if i change it...and stop allowing those excuses to stand in my way... work is always going to be part crazy part kids will always be my kids...i will never have enough time nor energy... and the bills...will always be there... a good thing...cause...that means i have the things we need...a roof over our heads... electric...heat...and food... so...instead of using these valid excuses stop me...i'm going to work through them...and with them... wohoo!!! i think i'm ready!!!

I knew something was going on. Take one day at a time and tackle one problem at a time. Just like FlyLady. Break everything down in small pieces. I know beinga sigle mom can be really overwhelming. I remember people asking me how I did it with 3 kids and working full time. You just do it, what's the alternative! You can do this!

Wow!I know God sent me here for a reason. Like my computer, I need a good Reebooting every once in awhile to and get back on the straight and narrow. I too have been in a slump lately. Total Knee Replacement has been extremely painful. It is the last thing I need to do is gain weight I have lost. It is such a selfloathing feeling to go on a week long eating binge because the pain just gets to me so bad, and I just lose all self control. But reading what you guys are going through and doing something about it, gives me so much ecouragement to begin a fresh beginning. Good luck to all and GodSpeed. Carlin emoticon emoticon

Excuses are only that ... excuses. Reasons are better ... so find reasons to kick those excuses to the curb. Everyone has hills and mountains to climb and we will all climb our mountains and yell and hoot at the summit. I have gained weight over the last week and a half too. My "exucse" is ... "I had to eat on the road" We all know that we can eat healthy on the road ... I just didn't choose to and now I have to kick it up another notch. The holidays are coming up and so many of us use that as an "excuse" to eat and eat. We need to keep our reasons to choose better choices handy. We can do this, yes we can, yes we can, yes we can!!!

Yes, there are always excuses we use. I know lots of them too. But you just have to jump back on the wagon an never give up. WE CAN DO THIS. Love the blog. We have all been there done that. emoticon emoticon

Thank you for motivating me! I have also gained some weight in the last couple of weeks and have the very same issues you have. I can see that you are going to tackle them head-on and now I'm inspired to do the same. Thank you!
