I'm an avid exerciser. I dance, I walk, I take circuit training classes, I take the stairs (and I work on the 9th floor!). I never felt the need for a pedometer because I was *sure* I had that covered with my other activities.
Hah! What a surprise when I purchased a pedometer on a whim. Turns out a fairly rigorous dance or step workout is only about 5000 steps. After a great workout I was only half way to my daily step goal! What an eye opener. I'm finding that most days I really have to work to get those 10,000 steps in.
I am now a pedometer convert. If I'm up, it's clipped on! It's a great reality check.
