I Hate Eczema & Allergies

Thursday, October 01, 2009 for the past 6 weeks...i have been swollen and just down right feeling icky... i've tried everything...including what the doctor says...i know...pretty bad anyways... the thing is...i still feel like poo and my skin is the worse it's ever been.... i just cannot afford to go to any more doctors...even with only a's more than i have... so that is not an option...but my skin is sooooo raw... mostly my not like i can soak it in an oatmeal bath...though...that might still be an option later the good news is, that i think i have the allergies thing figured out...which means my exzema will clear up double good news....the bad's the work place emoticon this isn't good.... it's not like i work in some factory...i have a pretty cushy office's cleaned twice a no signs of critters.... nothing that i can tell even new or different...but i do know that when i was off for 4 days, i felt good skin was clearing third day back and i'm even worse than before... so's the job... can't say it's even the stress...the weekend was more stressful than work had been... sooooo...while i'm still trying to figure out what the heck is setting this all off at work...i need to find some at this point... soaking my face in oatmeal water is sounding pretty

It could be the work stress, it could be scents that people wear. Cleaning supplies used in your work space, a plant on your desk... Consider wiping down your desk when you arrive. Get a air purifier for your desk. (I was allergic to the pine scented air infuser beloved of my boss at the position second before last. )

Drink lots of water and go ahead and take full quantity of allergy meds as much as possible. (so you are still safe for driving)

Hint from one who knows.. Axid. Is and acid reducer, yet it's an non-drowsy antihistamine. It block another kind of histamine and make my skin less reactive. If you use scents... stop, anything that bothers you once in a while avoid it. It's like you have a allergic load, and you need to keep your reactions to the minimum...

Good luck. I hope you don't end up having to retire.

Oh Kitty!! I have terrible allergies too and while my skin is crazy sensitive I don't have eczema....I say if the oatmeal helps go for it. I think I would just make a paste and put it on like a mask. Think of it as your own special itch-relief facial!! emoticon
About the job and the allergies I have questions: How old is the building? Has the A/C been turned off or the heat turned on recently? It could also be that because its the end of the season they really need to change the filters in the A/C units. Dust and mold in climate control systems is a MAJOR cause of allergies. Are you taking anything that helps at all? When my allergies get to severe for just my prescription alone my doc says I can supplement with OTC stuff and that helps A LOT. I had horrible hay fever in the spring. Everything thought I was sick and spreading some horrible cold but it just took me a week to get enough antihistamine in my system to beat out the pollen overload.
Hang in there. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. emoticon

Oh,Kitty I to am sorry to hear you are having such a rough time with the Allergies & Eczema. Earlier this year I was having my own issues with Allergies. It sucks that it is something where you work that is causing this allergic reaction. I hope it is figured out soon for you and you get relief. I have never had Eczema so I hope the Oatmeal does help.
Is there anything I can do to help you out on LAP? Just let me know I am here for you. Take care my friend.

Gentle air hug!

Sorry to hear that. I know that my allergies get pretty bad at work too. I work in an office that has no windows and the air is pushed through the ventilation. Hopefully you can find out what is triggering it soon!
