Ok, first, I want to say that I appreciate all the concern that you all showed in comments on my last blog. I haven't had a chance to get around and thank everyone personally, but I really appreciate it all the same. I hate going to the doctor, but I probably will, I am a bit concerned myself...
******
Second, the hyperventilation is not regarding my current health status.
It is regarding a commercial I just saw on TV. Said commercial showed a "muscle toning" product which cannot possibly produce the results they claim it does. But what had me reaching for my inhaler (almost literally) was the images it showed. It showed a fairly slender girl from the rear, running. And wow, go figure! Her bottom jiggled! Is it possible? Surely she just isn't right! I mean, her bottom jiggled!!
!!!
Seriously, you have got to be freakin' kidding me!!!
What in the world have we come to, that it is considered unnatural, not right, or unattractive that a woman's bottom might jiggle? When she is RUNNING? I mean, please!! Can you tell me ANYONE whose bottom does not jiggle when they RUN?? That is the most fundamentally retarded thing I have seen in a long time! I mean, I really thought that part of the reason that men enjoyed Baywatch so much was because they got to watch women jiggle when they ran! Right?
I do get annoyed and frustrated with the constant "You Must Be Perfect" onslaught of ads that we get hit with everyday. And the diet and exercise commercials are surely the worst. But it is ludicrous to think that it isn't OK and dandy to jiggle when you are running. In fact, it seems to me that if your BMI is at least 18.5%, which is the minimum to be healthy, it is unhealthy to NOT jiggle when you run. Seriously, people, 18.5% is one-fifth of your mass. And we all know that fat is less dense than muscle. So if 1/5th of you is fat, and fat jiggles... Logic, my friends!
So you will jiggle. You SHOULD jiggle. And hey, News Flash!! Men like some jiggle!! So please just ignore everything that you see on TV that is trying to tell you what women should look like, they are all just baloney. In fact, if you see commercials that are promoting those body types, or phony weight loss products, please proceed with all speed to the nearest Hunk-O-Rama channel you can find, THAT is what we want to support and promote!! Right!!
(Rant is now complete. You may return to your regularly scheduled programming. Thank you!)
