Me and the South Beach Diet

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

I have just finish my second day on the south beach diet. I have lost a total of 3 pounds. I did not expect my body to go into fat burning mode so quickly. This is my second serious time on the south beach diet. The first time I lost a total of 30 pounds. It is for me the only diet that has work. The first time I found out that the weight does come off quickly but if you start eating bad carbs the weight will come on quickly, as was the case for me. I still find that I go the kitchen often. But these times I do not eat. I have water so as not to have wasted the trips. The trips to the kitchen indicate that I am still a food addict. It indicates that my psyche is still lagging behind in getting with program. But I confident that time will change this.

What am I doing different this time around? I am first writing my sparkpeople friends and keeping them informed of my progress or lack of progress. These includes the facebook spark people friends I have. Second, I am writing this blog so has to share (not preach) my experience with the general sparkpeople population. Third, I am making use of technology. I have join the south beach diet website that is well worth the $5 per week that I pay. Last, I have made up my mind that the south beach diet is going to become my new religion. It is going to become a life style not a diet. I am determine to explain to my friends and family that this is the way I chose to live and not to take it personally when I turn down certain foods at a social events.

I wish again to make clear that I am not advocating that all should go on the South Beach Diet. I am simply sharing what works for me. You are going to have to find what works for you. At the end it is not I who will convict you but rather it is you scale.
