Well, my very first blog after a while of joining Sparkpeople. But for me this is special and I need to share it.
This coming October I plan to participate in my very first 10K. Iím so excited that I canít even describe it.
I must say that I, by no means, consider myself a runner. I prefer power-walking, and thatís what I intend to do on my 10K. I power-walk 12min/mile, so Iím confident I can make it to the finish line decently, not to win the 10K but to prove to myself that I can do this and at the same time help the cause which this year is in benefit of our Cardiology Institute.
Iíve been power-walking 10 miles per week for quite a while as part of my cardio training, in addition to strength training 3 times per week, so I donít think to be in bad shape for the big event. Anyways, if you guys have any tips or past experiences you want to share with me, Iíll totally appreciate them.
Iíll be posting pics to let you guys know how I did. I know I can do this.
