Maple syrup and pecans equals no

I decided to make a special breakfast today. I was okay with something more extravagant than cereal but we were away and not tracking for the past few days so I wanted to get back on track. I made a french toast recipe with tofu, 3/4 cup of maple syrup and 3/4 cup of pecans (per 2 servings). We ate it, it was good, and then I went to enter it into the recipe calculator. 900 calories and 40 grams of fat per serving!!!! Pecans are evil, and maple syrup is ridiculous! I can't believe how much I'm still learning. I may never eat a piece of pecan pie again.
Oh, and I was so proud of myself because I just wiped a bit of oil on the pan with paper towel for the cooking - ha!
