Watching the Miracle of Healing

Friday, September 25, 2009

If you've been following my adventures of late, you no doubt heard/read about my misadventure with the apples and the trashcan last week. You've also undoubtedly heard/read about my self imposed time-out in order to allow my body the time and resources to heal. OH the lessons I've learned first hand, yet again about how truly miraculous the human body is and how wonderfully blessed I am to have God to thank for all of it!!!!!

Here's the deal today. I really wish I had taken pictures of all of the bruises the day after it happened. They were huge and angry, but an oddly beautiful and captivating deep purple hue. They seemed to keep getting worse and worse until I started the exercise hiatus on Monday. By Tuesday evening, I could visibly see my body healing itself as the bruises healed. Now this wasn't a situation where they just changed colors or faded. They literally healed from the inside out. The normal brown skin tones returned/are returning in a way I have never seen. I'm blogging about this because neither my sister (the ER nurse) nor my chiropractor had ever seen anyone heal in such a unique way either.

Although the picture doesn't do it justice, you can see how the process looks as of last night. The outer edges measured about 3" across and it was about 1.5" in height. This one is actually on the outside of my left calf.

There is no doubt that this happened in just this way to teach me some more lessons about wellness and the importance of rest and recovery. It's amazing what I learn when I'm forced to really pay attention...hopefully the next healing lesson won't involve those stupid apples!!!
