Spark Points and Goodies

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Have you every tried explaining SP and SG to other people. I always get a look like, WHATEVER! I tell people that I work hard to get my SP and they ask why, what can you do with the points? I try to explain how you get a trophy of some sort on your Spark Page (more weird looks and don't even try to explain your Spark Page). Then I tell them I can spend the Spark Points on Spark Goodies and they again ask WHY. I tell them that goodies are like rewards and gifts we can give our friends. Since we don't actually know where are friends are located, we can send a Goodie. They don't seem to understand why someone would want an invisible (being not touchy, feely) item. I try to explain how great a feeling it is to get a gift from a friend--and it doesn't have to be touchy, feely. It's the thought that counts. Anyhoo, no one seems to understand. How about you?

That little bit of reward feeling you get when you get a "goodie" is so sweet. It makes me try a little harder, walk a little more or feel better about myself. Some people get it, some don't. I sure am glad you do!
...and I like KAZZYP's idea about rewarding yourself if you accomplish something. Hadn't thought of that!

I don't even try to explain! Hubby doesn't understand why I want to be online with this and how or why do I want to be friends with someone I can't see anyway? But I have become friends with some really great people here. I look at the points as a reward for staying aware that I need to be focusing on this part of my lifestyle now.I really value the goodies others have given me. It's that "warm fuzzy" that makes me want to stay on track, feel I'm making a difference to others by my comments.

I know my sister is here but reads the few things they send and that it.. she said what do I need that for.. this reminds me of weight watchers.... when they give you a star or they give you a bravo.. instead of just the leader we can do that for our friends too.

I totally get it. I sometimes spend the spark points on my own goodie. I award myself with a goodie when I feel like I've accomplished something
