Day 112 - A Successful Weekend!

Wow! I think I just had the most successful 3-day weekend ever! I worked out for over 4 hours. I tracked all of my food, stuck to my range for Friday and Saturday and only went over by 100 calories today. I really do feel like I have renewed my commitment to this journey and I know that it's working!

So, tomorrow I had a potential roadblock. My regular work hours are 6:30 to 4:00. I agreed to go to a meeting at 7 pm in place of another advisor who can't attend. The roadblock was how to fit in a workout (which I have deemed mandatory for this week) in this schedule. I know that I just can't get up earlier than 5 am. And I can't really work out after I get home at 8:30 or later, because that would just make me super wired and unable to go to sleep. And, since I have to look nice for the meeting at 7, I can't really work out from 5 pm to 6 pm, take a shower and get to the meeting by 7. It's just too tight of a schedule. I know that was a bunch of "I can't's" but it's really just that I'm being realistic and knowing my limitations and internal clock. So what can I do? I luckily have the flexibility to shift my work schedule. I can get up at 5 as usual, work out until 6, get on the road by 6:45 or 7 at the latest and into the office by 7:30, then work until 5 or 5:30 and head directly to the meeting at 7 without stopping at home first. Problem solved! And, this is a good trial to help me decide if I should stop carpooling for good. It's pretty cool how your mind shifts when you just reorder your priorties. Exercising is not an option for me this week. In the wise words of the ever dapper Tim Gunn, I need to "make it work."

Nothing can stop me now!

Oh - more news on the shopping front. I went to Target today and just checked out the women's section just for kicks. I found a pair of dress pants on the clearance rack for seven whole bucks! Amazing! I didn't bother to try them on, but I did when I got home and they fit great! I found a shirt too for $7.50!

    Way to go fitting in your exercise. I personally prefer working out in the morning. Who knows! Maybe this will become a regular thing for you. Enjoy your workout time.
