Dumb pain

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Apparently I have TMJ (that's what the doctor says but I'm not quite convinced as one of my symptoms is being ignored) and the pain means that I have to eat soft foods for two weeks. This is not new to me because I've had it for two years and occassionally have flare-ups.

This makes my caolrie intake go way under if I'm not feeling well or way over if I'm frustrated and give in to cravings like sugary drinks.

Grrrrrrrrrrrr. I was doing so well.

I also have dairy and wheat allergies so easy dairy things to eat are not available to me.

Looks like lots of homemade soup, Rice cream (fake ice cream), interesting drinks, soy yogurts etc. here I come. emoticon

I have had TMJ for 30 years now. I wear a night guard when sleeping to keep from grinding my teeth. I also learned to meditate and relax my jaw to keep the tension out. There are good PT out there that can help you with the issue. Good luck. emoticon
