Clothes have always been one of my biggest motivations for losing weight. I had gotten to the point where my size 18s and 20s were too snug and I was going to have to get a size 22 jeans. In fact, in dresses, some shirts, and suit jackets, I was already in a 22. I refused to go up another size.
As the weeks progressed, my coworkers began to comment that I needed new clothes because my old ones were too baggy, lol. Thankfully, I didn't get rid of all of my smaller size clothes from when I was smaller so I didn't have to go out and buy too much. Although, it was great not having to automatically go to Lane Bryant or the plus size section of a store when I went buy new clothes.
A few weeks ago, I'd slowed with my weight loss but noticed that some of my clothes were fitting more loosely. The smallest size that I had at the time was a 14. So, one day while I was out with a friend (Shout out to BMORE73!), we stopped at Old Navy where I decided to buy a size 12 for motivation. I went to the dressing room to try on a shirt (because instead of getting a size 1 or 2 XL, I can usually fit into a large, but like to try it on just in case) but my curiosity wouldn't let me leave the dressing room without seeing how much I had to go before I could fit into the size 12. Well, to my surprise I put on the 12s and could already wear them! So, while I am about 30 pounds away from my "goal weight" I am only 2 sizes away from my goal size of 8.
This just goes to show everyone to not let the scale rule your weight loss progress. Losing inches is just as important and rewarding!
