What intrigued me today
Okay, I'm SO *NOT* kidding when I say this sucker is HUGE. The back part is as big as the first joint of my thumb - HUGE! Tonight I saw only one - last night there were two spinning webs from the same tree.
And, just in case the video comes out too small to see, here's a couple of pics - I got as close as I dared!!!!
I have no idea if it's poisonous or not (not gonna get bit to find out, either!) or what it's technical name is (other than Arachnid) but it was just fascinating to me to watch it work - to know that the web will be destroyed by daybreak, and it will be back to work again tomorrow evening. Consistent, repetitive, constantly working - just because that's what it does in order to survive.
Maybe we need to be more like the arachnid???
