The dish about my trainer

Friday, September 18, 2009

Working out with a trainer is a great thing if you can afford it because you get personalized attention and he/she can move at your pace. I love it. Itís the best thing that I have ever done for myself. However, I think I made a mistake when I tried to mix a personal relationship with a business relationship. He has gotten way too comfortable and has changed times on me more than once and it's only been 2 weeks. He hasnít weighed or measured me nor does he record anything that I do during our workouts so I donít know how he is going to measure my progress. I weigh myself because I got to TOPS but he hasnít done anything of the sorts. Not to mention the treadmill incident and the fact that he came to my house prior to one of our sessions and helped himself to a sandwich in my kitchen without even asking! He and I donít have that kind of relationship where he can come into my home and help himself to what he wants so that was totally out of line(I was in the bathroom when he made it). I had to tell him about himself and that was the point when I realized that once the sessions that I have paid for are done, so is he. I am joining the YMCA and working with a certified trainer that will be professional and will give me what I pay for. Well at least I gave him a try and it just wasnít a good fit for us. emoticon

Good idea to go to the Y. And you gave a friend a try. He dropped the ball, was unprofessional and doesn't have much integrity.
So far, I'm loving TOPS. I think it is much more personal than WW meetings, each member has a chance to get involved, not just sit and listen to the leader.

Wow! First of all you should inform him take you paid for a service. It is his responsible to do his job. If your not pleased with what he is lacking request another trainer. Like you said this is a expensive service and this is your time invested. I would discontinue all other contact with him otherwise. This sounds like he has done this before and he is just working the club.
