o/` "The Prodigal Son, he'd been away a while
he was working his way back home now
over many a ragged mile
When he finally crossed the river
and his father saw him near
there was a joyful sound, for all the world to hear" o/`

I'm back after going on vacation (I'll talk about that later and post pictures). While we didn't eat as well as we could have, I managed to maintain my weight and even lose a few pounds. I have, however, reset my SparkPeople program to help me get back into a home routine. Some things like drinking water are second nature to me now. Other things, like exercising and eating the right things, not so much.
Unless we can figure out exactly what it is that makes the difference in my health between being in Texas and Colorado (where I was actually able to walk around a little and sleep decently, not to mention a remission of the asthma) and being here, a move will be pending. I can't spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair or shorten my lifespan by staying in a climate which isn't good for my health.
Right now, we're operating as though it might be something in the well water. I brought home five gallons of water from Colorado (which we know I can drink safely) and I'm drinking that. It's the control, in case there's a trace element involved. After that, we're using a reverse osmosis system. If it's a trace element, back to the wild country I go; we have no way of guessing what it is and replacing it. If it's something in the well water (we suspect selenium poisoning) then the reverse osmosis will take care of it.
