The American Way

I recollect many events that have happened in the past when something triggers those memories. But every day I wake up and breathe - Every time I go to a church service - Every time I get in my vehicle and drive to my job - Every time I attend a school function for one of my children - Every time I walk across campus to further my education - Each and every day should be the renewal of what the American Way means to me. Freedom. Sure, I dont like the direction the leaders are propelling this country - but by that same American Way, I have the FREEDOM to VOTE, the RIGHT to PROTEST, the ABILITY to PRAISE what I feel. As those towers came crashing down, every American citizens' dreams came crashing down also. The tears fell like debris from the skies. Our hearts collapsed like those buildings. The rage inside burned like the fires. And the questions - oh the questions.
Whether we are Democrats, or Republicans - we are liberals or conservatives - at LEAST we can ALL AGREE - I am PROUD to be an AMERICAN, where at least I KNOW I'm FREE. Where we go from here, well that's entirely up to each of us.
