Some of you may recall that I had my gall bladder pulled earlier this year around April...?

Well at the time my surgeon said I had a hernia that should get taken care of later this year. It was too risky for him to do both with one surgery, unfortunately.

Back then we all could see the hernia popping in and out of my belly...like Alien trying trying to hatch itself and do the two-step...lol! Didn't hurt or bother me. Just avoided ab-specific exercise.

So that brings us to TODAY! I'm all psyched up and ready to take care of business. I head out to the doc and...

The Hernia Is GONE!

We're totally baffled! The doc congratulated me on taking good care of myself and figures, since the hernia is a hole and holes don't heal, somehow muscles have grown to a point where they must be covering up the hernia and preventing it from popping. I was amazed! I mean, my abs are SUCH a long, LONG way from being a six-pack...and haven't deliberately worked them!

So I guess I can dust off that "Abs-by-Jake" thingy I got for $20 at a garage sale and see what I can do with it...! :-)

PS...A very pleasant surprise today also...SparkPeople has gathered up clips from the San Diego convention earlier today and put together a wonderful 10 min. video to give everyone a sense of what an SP convention is like. You will hear from Chris Downie (SparkGuy), Coach Nicole and Becky Hand, SparkPeople's Dietician as well as speakers from the panel of SparkPeople members and other members.

Yours truly was honored to have a few moments of fame in this ten minute video also...around the 9 min. mark. How cool is THAT?!?
