Emmy's gone

We finally had to put our old girl down this week. She was a great dog, protected us, loved us, and even tolerated Gilda when we brought her into our home. We will miss her dearly. She has left us with many good memories. She got to go on one last walk on Saturday and then we think she might have had a stroke on Sunday. We made the hard decision on Sunday night and took her to the ER vet to have her put down. We loved her.

    I am so sorry about your Emmy. How lucky you were to have her in your life, and what a lucky girl she was that you loved her enough to know when she had had enough.

    Such sad news. She looks like a nice, warm, friendly dog; I know you'll miss her and it's hard to read all the comforting comments you'll be getting. But, you had her for a long time and gave her a good life, and you can rest easy knowing she was doing well until the very last day. Difficult though it must have been, you made the right decision. Many of us have been there as well, and knowing it was the right thing to do doesn't make it any easier. emoticon

    I am so sorry about Emmy. Even though it is the right choice to let them go it isn't easy. Walks, a warm place to sleep, and a loving owner - sounds like she had a great life with you.

    Sorry to hear you had to put your dag down, it certainly is difficult to do. We had a sheltie for 19 years then needed to put her down, she got quite sick---couldn't stand for her to suffer. It took us almost 2 years before we got another
sheltie. We've had Princess for 10 years now,but she is starting to slow down, she still can move quickly when she needs to tho.

    I'm so sorry for your loss. She was beautiful. Dogs are special friends.
We lost our Border Collie 2 years ago and we still miss her everyday.
