Such a thing as Walker's Anonymous?

Saturday, August 29, 2009

To understand the significance of my needing walker's anonymous you have to understand two things:

1. I'm a couch potato; in reform mode but still, 3 wks ago I didn't want to walk 25 steps to take pups out for potty break.

2. I'm not a morning person! If I haven't had my shower, do not speak to me. Nod and IF YOU HAVE TO, smile but other than that, leave me be!

So, Daisy, my little gray girl, is yodeling to me at 5:15 this morning, begging for her breakfast. (I could thump my roommate for teaching them about early morning breakfast!) Well, I got up and fed the kitties and then let the puppies out. Thinking to myself, the whole time, "why oh why can't they get the concept of Saturdays???"

Normally, I would have gone back to bed and slept a bit. Oh no, not today. I have a hair appt. later today that is going to interfere with my walking time. So, here I sit wide awake, trying to find something to do to occupy my time until I need to feed the puppies. Then, once there's enough light to see the path, off we'll go to get our walk in. Yes, I know, it's Saturday but for some reason, in just the past 3 weeks I've become some what addicted to walking. I need a WA meeting... funny that it would sound like a cry baby sound! That use to be me... "I don't wanna go for a walk." [insert whiny voice]

My inner athlete emerges much more quickly this time. Last time, it took months to be addicted to walking. LOL

I think it's those stars. I just gotta get my star today!

I am NOT a morning person either. My family learned early NOT to even look my way until I have spoken to them... a grunt does not count. It has to be a string of words that actually mean something LOL I am happy to hear that your exercise program is getting to be habit forming. Sometimes it is hard to believe that it could ever happen but by some miracle it does. I guess our bodies know more than we thought!!! emoticon

Good for you! I too was a couch potato. When I first joined sp and realized they expected me to exercise, I cried. lol Now it's becoming second nature. I have Leslie Sansone walking dvds for when it is raining out. It's such a feeling of accomplishment when the walk is done. emoticon
