Plantar Fascitis (sore foot)

Friday, August 28, 2009

These things are meant to test us. Bah............ I was really getting stuck into my walking between 8,000 & 10,000 steps a day 5 to 6kms a day. Wham O
I had really bad pain in my heal. I have just had it looked at and no more walking for a while. I do not want to loose my level of fitness that I have worked so hard for.
No more posting of steps for a while.
Sorry, I had my next challenge worked out Sept was 270,000 steps for the month.
Such is life.
love Syl

You did 186,000 steps in just 22 days! Even if you can't walk much at the first of September, you can still meet or beat 186,000 steps. You've been doing great. And the other comments had some good suggestions too.

I have this too, my foot doctor made an adhesive bandage for me, slips over my foot and voila!! - pain is gone!! Maybe if rest doesn't do it for you, find someone to show you how to make this adhesive bandage to support your foot. Good luck

I have had this. You can bandage your foot with tape and support it and it is bliss. You would probably need to get a dr. or physio to show you the tecnique but it is simple, effective and provides immediate and ongoing relief. You use adhesive tape and can even go in the pool without taking it off. Do try to find someone to show you the technique as it is very simple once you have been shown and you will not believe the difference it makes.

I hope your heel gets better soon Syl, so you can attack that next challenge! If you don't want to lose that level of fitness you worked for maybe try some low impact cardio. A great one is boxing on the spot. Just using ur arms. Or even swimming or walking in your local pool? The water should absorb most the pressure on that heel. Maybe think of this as ur next challenge.... how to stay this fit until your heel is better? I'm sure you will find a way!
