Gained and lost a habit

Thursday, August 27, 2009

I've gained a new habit at work. Since I'm not smoking anymore (more on that in a minute) I was finding that I was sitting at my desk entirely too long. My neck and back was starting too get cramped up. That wasn't a problem when I would go out to smoke. So, now whenever I use the bathroom (which can be quite often with the amount of water I consume) I'm always doing the 'quick fires' and any other exercise that I can do standing up. When the guys are out of the office, I'm up and walking around the warehouse and through the office.

Pretty amazing that I actually get some more work done as well. There are not people asking me to go outside anymore so I can concentrate a little better - that's not really saying much seeing as everyone seems to think when they pass me they need to say something smart/stupid/funny, etc (all in fun) I would swear there is a sign that says - Please pester Stephanie on your way by.......

So, anyway - I've lost the bad habit of cigarettes and gained a new one of fitting in a little extra exercise - pretty darn good deal!!!!!

As of yesterday, I am one month smoke free emoticon

Congratulations on being smoke-free!!! You are awesome!

And you idea to do light workouts when you go to the bathroom is a great one. I just might use that idea myself.

Keep up the great work.

You are one amazing good smelling Sparkie! emoticon
Have you tried wall pushups?
They feel so good on the upper back and shoulders.
I do those and neck rolls frequently.

Great Job quitting smoking! I quit just over a year ago. It was difficult, but absolutely the best change I have made so far toward better health. I do the same...trying to fit in small breaks at work to "move". We have 6 floors in my building and whenever I take the restroom hike, I also try to do the stairs. You made a great trade!

I am so proud of you. You got a 2 for 1 deal there and managed to keep your fabulous sense of humor. You could always take the "smoking" break and head outside with those watermelon seeds. Practice, practice, practice.

    Stephanie,

Awesome job on being smoke free for a month!!! And it's great that you have changed that bad habit for a good one - exercising when you get free time.

You are doing great!!

BTW...made some salsa and I'm thinking of changing my name to hotlips...whooey that's some hot stuff and I didn't use my habeneros they're still too small. Good stuff....just smelling it makes the calories start to burn.
