I used to just LOVE to input my daily food into the SP tracker, but it's not working for me anymore. It was fun entering data and seeing the numbers pop up. But it's not helpful if it doesn't stop me from eating the bad stuff in the first place.
I just had an experience where I got emotional over something and I grabbed a bag of cookies and started eating: no nutritional value, no portion control, possible stomach ache coming my way. And most of all, the situation that made me get emotional didn't go away.
The is not the first time that has happened in the past several weeks. I know what I need to do. I need to write down my food BEFORE I eat it (and the REASON why I'm eating it). Frankly, the computer isn't going to help with that. I need paper and pencil staring me in the face when I walk in the pantry. (until I can make it a habit)
So, for a while I'm going to switch to the old fashion way. I'll just print out my calorie favorites from Spark and hang them up. I'll keep a written running calorie total and a list of why I'm eating. Hopefully this will help me think before I eat. I can always check Spark for new foods I'm not sure about and add them to my written list.
Now, on to deal with that situation that made me gobble down those cookies in the first place.
