So today was my first day of waking up at 7 AM in order to get to class by 8 AM. It is the beginning of a new year the campus is crowded as usual. Since it is crowded, I decided to take the bus to campus. I have to walk a good 8-10 minutes to get to the bus stop. After all of my classes I ended up walking all the way home from campus *pat on back*. It is around 1 mile. I had the choice of being lazy and waiting 20 more minutes for the bus or to walk home while getting exercise. I hope I can continue this mentality for the rest of the semester. I do not want all of my hard work from this summer to go to waste because of stress. I checked my email and in one of the Spark emails it was talking about this article from TIME magazine. So I checked it out. It was basically saying that heavy exercise really does not effect weight loss as much as we had believed. I really enjoy hearing this news because that means I do not have to kill myself to loose weight. As long as I eat healthy and contain my caloric intake along with doing low intensity activities, I should be able to shed the pounds just as easy if not easier than hardcore working out. (I hope this is true!)
On another note, I checked out a fellow Sparker's blog today. She was talking about people thinking they are too fat to run. She mentioned a running program from the couch to 5k. I googled it and read a lil about it. I think I am going to try it. I have been jogging/running all summer and I have yet to push myself. So I think this may help. If anyone else has tried it, let me know. I could use all the advice I can get!
