Pleasurable Motivation

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Well, I've been working hard to do everything I can on this site to shake a ton of pounds I have accumulated. I'm reading articles, getting emails, I set up a page, connected to facebook, printed my little card and hung it on the fridge, follow the nutrition and fitness guidelines...etc, etc, and I am seeing results!

This morning, I did my strength training and added the 10 minute Pilates "no crunches" abs workout....that about killed me! I sure learned how out of shape I the online instructor easily did the workout (while talking) seemingly without effort, I was a ball of sweat, pain and had to plain give up more than once...I just laughed a few times! This stuff is WICKED!

Still, after that I came up and had my breakfast. I was due for whole wheat waffles with 1 tablespoon of syrup-no butter (in the past that would have been about 4-5 tablespoons syrup, butter AND whipped cream). I also got a strawberry yogurt.

My point here is simply how AMAZING the food tasted. It is so much simpler (and less) than I have grown accustomed to...yet after doing all this work and learning for a month, changing my eating habits, trying new foods and recipes, it is beginning to pay off in unexpected ways.

The whole wheat bagel, with the touch of syrup--heavenly.
The good.

With portion limits, I find myself savoring every mouthful. I truly experience the way the food tastes.

It's as if the food has been enhanced due to the work. There is a new respect for food and a new love of healthy flavors...there is a pleasure in moderation instead of being stuffed.

The asparagus cooked in olive olive, discovering legumes mixed with spaghetti, red beans, chicken with a touch of Teriyaki sauce, etc. are truly tasty and filling foods.

I don't even have the need to snack..........I'm full all the time. Last night I couldn't even finish the meal I was supposed to eat and trust me, I usually eat ALOT (most definitely everything on my plate and most likely seconds too).

And that is the end of my pleasurable motivation talk for today. I hope some of you are experiencing what I am because, bottom line, it really is cool!

Enjoy! emoticon
