When I first joined SparkPeople and Weight Watchers, I knew in my head that I would probably lose a pound per week. But deep in my heart, I hoped to lose more. I worked extrememly hard for several weeks, watching and posting every bite of food I ate and walked twice a day.
It wasn't long before I got discouraged. Then, one day at one of my mettings, someone sat down with me and discussed my exercising. I suddening realized that I was starting to do my body more harm than good. I had gone to the extreme and needed to back down a bit.
I still walk daily, but have cut the time down some and do my other exercises every other day. Now I'm losing the healthy way and don't have to push my self to the point of exhaustion or injury to my body. The good news is, some times I even drop more than a pound, but without overdoing!
SparkPeople is a wonderful site, and the teams are great! I have more confidence and always have someone who cares enough to encourage me. In turn, I get to encourage others!
