Why work hard when I could just buy a Kymara body shaper?

Wednesday, August 19, 2009

I saw the info commercial today. They say, "why spend thousands of dollars on plastic surgery when you could just buy a Kymara body shaper?". As if plastic surgery is our only option! The commercial has these overweight women in tight clothes and it measures them before and after they put the bra on and ..."you will have a new and improved shape instantly!" These women lose 5 inches off of their waste...and their boobs get an lift also.

So why do the work?

1) They can't wear this body shaper all the time and will eventually have to get naked.
2) The body shaper will not help them to be healthy and prevent the diseases that obesity can cause.
3) The body shaper will not give them the freedom of movement or the ability to enjoy playing with kids or playing sports. In fact, I bet they feel a little like Scarlet O'Hara and can't move much at all.
4) The body shaper will not give them a sense of accomplishment like a lifestyle change will!

I must admit I have been a little frustrated with the fact that I have not lost a lot of weight since I started meanwhile doing everything I am supposed to and then some. However, I am losing inches and in 2 1/2 weeks I lost about 3 1/2 in off of my waist. That is a loss that will stay with me even when I get naked. And I feel so much better! More energy and simply proud of myself. This is something the body shaper could never do for me. I would only feel like a cheater.

Thanks for allowing me to share!

Thanks for posting this. I have several body shapers and there is not one I would want to remain in all day everyday. I would rather lose the weight and be done with it.

Congratulations on the inches you are losing!!!! I'd take that over a body shaper any day.

Keep it up - you're doing great.

I agree the health benefits far out weigh the cost. Plus I can't imagine trying to hurry to go potty in one of those.

I am so glad you posted this. When I saw this a couple months ago, I had thought, well maybe get one until I lose the weight, but then realized that if I push myself to get healthy by eating right and exercising, I would lose weight and inches so it would just be a waste of money. Good thing to post for those who may be waivering about whether to get one or not. Great Job!!!! Keep up your great work too!! Inches lost 4ever right!!!

Not to mention that I've never heard of a body shaper that caused you to be happy because it increases the release of endorphins.... I work out because it makes me feel good. If I'm having a bad day, I'll get on the eliptical machine for 30 minutes are more. I'm telling you... I have a much better two or three hours afterwards.... :)

I have seen the commercials, but in all honesty they really do not fit well with your clothing. My aunt has one and I can tell when she has it on. I would rather put the work in and look great ALL the time!

I agree. People are always looking for a quick fix, and there isn't one. It takes hard work and dedication to get rid of the pounds and inches
