so, this week is officially the second week of training for the 10K. i did not do so well with training last week...i was on vacation in toronto, and i got a terrible cold right before i left. i only ended up getting one run in...i did soooooooo much walking, it was all i could do to keep myself upright, and i didn't want to work out as well and overtrain. the last time i did that while i was sick, i made myself even sicker and it lasted for two more weeks! anyway, it's a new week.
i'm going to start posting my training plan for the week to try and give me some more motivation to stick to it. here's the plan for this week:
tuesday: 2.5 mile run
wednesday: 30-45 min cross training + arms
thursday: 2 mile run + 6 minute butt/thigh routine
friday: 40-60 min cross training + arms
saturday: rest + 6 min butt/thigh routine
sunday: long run - 3.5 miles
this is the plan. i'm pretty much following the training plan i found online...just upping some of the cardio they called for...30 minutes is really not enough for me, but i think that as all of the runs start to get longer, i might enjoy a little respite with a short jaunt on the elliptical! have a great week, everyone!
