So today was my first day running on an indoor track. I had originally planned a three mile route through the neighborhood, but around 6:45 I decided it was still too warm to run outside. Part of me wanted to blow off the workout and sit and finish my book. BUT I had made myself a promise...a challenge really...that I would run three full miles today. So, I got up, changed, got my stuff together and headed to the pavilion to run on the indoor track. (I stopped at Sport's Authority and picked up a pitch counter to count my laps which was a brilliant idea Laura, thank you!)
So I got there, walked a couple warm up laps and then realized I forgot the watch for my HRM. This means I also meant I didn't have a timer for my work out. So I decided I was just going to run the length of my playlist. That way I would know exactly how long I ran. 49.8 minutes later I had run 4 miles!!! I knew when I hit the three mile marker thanks to my handy-dandy counter, and I still felt great. I had no reason to stop. Plus, I told myself I was going to run through my playlist so I kept going.
I still can't believe I ran four freaking miles! I'm on such a high right now I just want to go run more. I have a feeling my legs are going to be a little sore tomorrow though because they're already feeling a bit tight.
I feel so accomplished. This is by far the longest run ever. It's even helped me get over the few flashbacks I had to junior high when we took a field trip to the pavilion to run the mile.
