Knee pain and bad luck

Wednesday, August 12, 2009

I have severe OA in both my knees w/ multiple bone spurs. My left one is in pain mostly all the time worst right on knee cap. Well of course I managed to add to my pain by banging it right in the spot that hurts w/ a dumbbell last night. I saw stars for like 10 mins. I sat on the floor and didn't move for an hour

My bad luck continues when today I banged it on a table leg during an inservice at work. My co workers said I turned completely white. The pain was so bad I definitely almost passed out, wow. IT vibrated through my leg and just wouldn't quit. I haven't felt anything like that since before my surgery and my right knee dislocated 3x.

The story goes on. I tried Capzasin a topical ointment for arthritis to help w/ pain. It says it may cause some burning. Well I had an allergic rxn. My knee is bright red and was on FIRE!!!!! and I mean fire for 3hrs. Then I went to ER finally was able to relieve it w/ dishwashing liquid lol. It's still red but the burning has finally stopped. These things only happen to me. My family has nicknamed me Eeyore cuz i have a black rain cloud that follows me lol.

I'm scheduled for hyalgan injections Sept. 9 which I've been waiting for since Nov. but I have to see doc this week 4 x-ray or mri d/t injury. I hope they can give me something for pain cuz I'm going to Florida on vacation in 2wks. Although nothing ever works.

Who knew that dishwashing liquid could stop the burning... hee hee I really admired your guts in sticking it out through the pain. Hope the pain gets better before you start your vacation! Take it easy & let us know what the doc has to say.

I knew that there was a reason you motivate me - you've got that "I'm going to do what I need to do, no matter what" attitude that I have. Sorry about the knee pain. You know all about my current situation. I have a left knee that basically looks like applesauce on the inside, since I was 18.

Anyway, hang in there and keep on truckin'. I sense you know when to slow down a bit and when to pick it up again. And even when to stop and rest for a couple of days. But I have complete faith. I've watched you're success here ... I know all these ailments painful as they are, (and as much a pain-in-the-butt, or in this case knee :) ... you are going to continue to be a success, a motivator and inspiration!!

Hugs,
Alan

I am sorry for all of your trials. I have osteoarthritis in so many areas of my body that is is easier to say that all of my body has it. I hope you get relief for your pain quickly.

I'm sorry for your pain, I know how frustrating and debilitating it is.
I am going thru neck shoulder pain that goes to my elbow, wrist and knuckles...and funny too, my collar bone area.
Anyway. I saw an amazing doctor and I'm on the mend. He gave me this weird steroid patch to wear for four hours with some battery pack in it. Anti inflammatory and PT are also prescribed, so I feel that stuff is happening and I feel better than I have since this started in early July.

Go in with a positive attitude as in THIS time IT IS going to work!
Anyway, good luck and feel better soon!
