I am getting ready to leave for vacation. The hubby and I have loaded up the camper, and soon we'll be on our way to Michigan for a Nascar weekend. I love going to the races, and camping out near the track with other race fans. I'm looking forward to jamming with the other musicians at the campground, and rehearsing with my hubby for our upcoming acoustic gigs. It's a great time and place to work out new material.
When we left for Michigan last year at this time, I was 139 lbs. I'd lost 10 lbs. in 4 months with Spark People. I was using the nutrition tracker and had taken my first steps towards the healthy lifestyle.
Long story short, that's when I fell off the wagon the first time. I've learned a lot since then. I have a much better awareness of portion size. I will take my measuring cups with me. I have a dedicated notebook for logging food. I have learned to say no to trigger foods when the hubby waves them in front of my face and says, "Are you sure you don't want some of this?"
I weighed myself on my daughters new scale last week. I weigh 5 pounds less than I did a year ago. Last year I was wearing my slightly baggy size 12 jeans. Now the 10's are baggy.
Due to the demands of the day job, the gig schedule and preparing everything for vacation, I'm short on sleep and behind in my fitness goals. BUT - I can take long walks to catch up on the cardio. I'm taking my weights along. Knowledge is power, and I know I can do better than I did last year!!!
