In it for the long haul

Yesterday was very physical. I went swimming in the am. I hadn't been swimming for over a year maybe even 2. I thought I would swim for 20 minutes. However, I felt strong and wasn't winded so I swam for 30 minutes and felt great. The rest of the day DH and I finished cleaning out the basement guest room which he had been using for an office for the last few years. Since he retired about a year ago I thought it was time to clean it out. So we did. I went up and down stairs carrying all sorts of stuff umpteen times. I thought it was a pretty good strength and cardio workout. lol. Then I went to the library and grocery shopping for our stay at the cabin this weekend. To top it off, I tried a new SP generated strength workout. After all that and eating within my SP guidelines, I am still up 2 pounds. Go figure... But I am still motivated and don't feel discouraged. I am in this for the long haul...the rest of my life. I feel so much better physically that I don't really care that the weight and inches aren't changing. I will keep up with what I am doing and know that I am healthier.

    I think we fluctuate so much day to day I wouldn't worry about it. Keep that positive attitude going. I would much rather lose the inches than the pounds. Did I just say that? It is true. I just need to keep away from the scale.

    Don't worry a bit about the weight -- it WILL go because you're leaving it absolutely no place to hide! And feeling stronger and more energetic all the time which is what really counts from a health perspective. Great attitude: inspiring!

    You've got the right attitude...I got some new motivation today when I weighed for the first time in a couple of months....I've gained...no problem, I will start weighing and tracking again and I WILL LOSE...I will not give up, as I have so many times in the past, because I know can regain control just by paying attention to what I should be doing. For me , that is one of the most important parts of a healthy lifestyle just being aware of what and how much I'm eating. You are doing just fine...keep it up....Sharon

  You have a great positive attitude that will take you far! I cannot understand this weight up and down thing either. Just have to keep on doing what we know is right. I give you a Big High Five for a great day yesterday and sending you continued positive {{{{vibes}}}}}! Hugs. Pat
