After 3 years of yo-yo weight loss/gain, I do believe I am finally back on track. I have been training for a half marathon and logging my nutrition almost every day and have had 10 consistent weeks of weight loss (down 8 lbs from the beginning of June). While the loss has not been as much as I hoped for given the level of effort, I know that my fitness is better than it has ever been and I am much stronger. People say that "muscle is heavier than fat", but feared it was a rationalization... but it is real. I had not booked my waist/hip/thigh/arm/neck measurements in quite some time. But when I checked my measurements this morning, I was surprised to find that my measurements aligned to where I was at the beginning of 2007 when I was 10 lbs lighter. So... I believe I have lost a lot more fat than 8 lbs, and have added muscle. I am very encouraged.
