Won tug-of-war (this time)

Sunday, August 02, 2009

We walk 4 miles every morning. We usually get up at 4:15 am. Lately Lucy, the dog, has been getting me up at 3:30. I take her out and try to get her to sleep until it is time to get up. I usually give in and get up at 4, because she won't let me sleep. To day she let me sleep until 6:30. Since I don't have to go to work, we sleep in on Sundays. This morning on our walk, Lucy saw a cat. She only weighs 44 lbs, but she was able to give this 200 lbs man a run for his money. I pulled with all my might and weight and was able to keep her in tow. If she gets any bigger or if I loose more weight, I don't know what the result might be. I guess that I will have to get a smaller dog or lift more weights.

My Lexie weighs 72lbs and she & our cat play. I was taking her for a walk one morning & Baby, our cat decided to dart in front of us & run off. The chase was on. Before I knew what was happening I was yanked off my feet & face down in the grass. Our dogs are great company on our walks though aren't they.
