Finding quiet time

Thursday, July 30, 2009

There are only 24 hours in the day and when you have, as my 7 year old son would say"50 million and 1" things to do,the last thing you want to think about is sitting still doing nothing. Research shows that stress is not only a major factor in our new and advanced society, but it's also deadly. So how does a busy person chill? By finding time to be quiet.
A few minutes of sitting quietly listening to your favorite music or reading a chapter of your favorite book or just doing absolutely nothing but thinking good thoughts goes a long way to adding years to your life.
I read somewhere that happiness is just a thought away and if our mindsets are going to determine not only how long we live but also how well, shouldn't we then set our minds on peace, joy and tranquility?
Let's commit some time each day to being tranquil on purpose,-afterall it's good for your health.
Cheers,

Quiet time exercise:
Go to a place that you have designated as your quiet space, turn some relaxing music on, sit comfortably(do not lie or you might fall asleep),spend a few minutes conjuring up happy memories , remember the place, the people, the smells and that should set the mood. from there you should be in a pretty good place to relax and be happy doing the thing you like.

Today I am grateful just to be alive in this time.
