To me, this story from MotivateUs.com had SparkPeople written all over it!

A Wise Woman's Stone

A wise woman, who was traveling in the mountains, found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.

The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.

"I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone."

When I read this story, it occurred to me that here at SparkPeople.com we're all giving each other, drawing out from one another this special ability to give away our precious stones. All our stories, posts, SparkGoodies...we give them away and keep growing and SPARKING our way through life!

Just wanted to pass this along with gratitude for all of you in our SparkPeople community!

Thanks for this wonderful thought. I think the world needs more people that are willing to give even if what they are giving is precious. Thanks for all your giving and support of others.

I LOVE that story. The moral is good - I will share it with as many people as possible. Our world would be a far better place for everyone if we could all learn the lesson of giving.

If we each exchange a dollar, we each have a dollar. If we each exchange ideas, we each have two ideas.

I am very greatful for the Sparkpeople community.
