Back after the unplanned hiatus

I definitely just fell into the vacation rut, one of the oldest tricks in the book. You know, where you go on vacation, and when you come back you just can't seem to get back into the normal routine? Well, I've been back over 2 weeks now and I still haven't been able to get my healthy life back to normal! (And the funny part is that I actually exercised on vacation!)

I could give you several excuses for why it just hasn't happened. But they don't matter. What matters is that I've realized that while I've been busy at home and work, I haven't been on SP as much. And not being on SP has kept that healthy lifestyle out of the forefront of my mind.

Things are calming down a bit in both arenas, so this is a good time to get back into my regular habits. So here I am today, posting on SP. Instead of buying dinner out, I'm planning to stop by the store and pick up ingredients to make a quick & healthy new recipe as well as some healthy breakfast & lunch options. I went to the gym this morning and plan to go the rest of the week. The plan is to get back into my regular gym routine and get back to eating healthy, but I won't be using the nutrition trackers. I'm going to see how far I can get on my own.

There is no reason that I can't gain control of my life. The reins are right there for me to grab...it's time to stop being lazy and just reach out and grab hold of them.

Wow Jenna, It's almost like you've written my life for the past few weeks also. Guess I am not alone in my endeavor. My summer has been busy with my raising a fairly large garden this year, at least by my standards of big. I've been canning and freezing, and also sharing my bounty. Having my birthday in July was a perfect excuse to eat lots of extra sugary things, bready things, and things that were of the "just one more treat while I'm eating, can't hurt" and then I'll restart my journey! 5lbs later I am ready to see the scale go the other direction, however my discipline has been sliding, and am ready to put a halt to it. Thanks for reaching out. Also, can't make the spark rally this weekend, but I sure hope there is another one soon. emoticon

I can feel your pain, I'm getting ready to go to Cancun in a little over a week. My hubby is already telling me that I'm not dieting on vacation! I guess my diet effects everyone :) But I'm worried I'll get out of routine and not be able to get back into it. I wish we could all turn it on and off according to our will.

Good for you for realizing that SP is a tool and for getting back on board instead of staying dormant. Keep up the good work, it's sure to pay off. emoticon
