Today I accomplished something 16 months in the making...something that I can honestly say I never thought I would achieve. I finally made it to the 100 lb loss mark...actually 101 lbs. This is the longest I have ever stuck with something...of course, after many years of losing and gaining and gaining, I had gotten to the point where I needed to lose a little less than half my start weight to reach my goal weight of 165.
Finding SparkPeople was nothing short of divine intervention...I had almost given up on the idea of losing weight. On March 12th, 2008 I started my day with my usual Venti Whole Milk Latte (with whip) and muffin. When I happened upon Sparkpeople during an internet search for weight loss plans that afternoon, I knew that I had found something that would help me be a success at losing weight. I knew this because instead of saying to myself, "I already blew it today with breakfast...I'll start tomorrow", I accounted for my breakfast and started right then.
Although I often fall short on my water drinking and exercise, I have always stayed consistent in logging my foods and staying within my daily limits. As a result of having lost 101 lbs, I look better, feel better and can actually say that I am proud of myself...for the first time in a long time. I can also see myself making my goal weight...it won't be easy losing the next 44 pounds...new habits will need to be formed and extra efforts made, but I know I'll get there.
