2 days or pure stupidity

I was back on track. I was tracking my food -- not really working out, but doing some Zumba and walking -- staying away from things that I should stay away from. Then Friday came....

I took the kids to see G-Force and of course they weren't hungry before we left the house, but they were STARVING (that's how they put it) about an hour before the movie. We went to a burger joint next to the theater. They shared a kids meal and I had a kids meal. Yes people, that includes fries. This was just the start to my stupidity. I found at a store that morning Coconut M&M's. I thought "Hmm, those sound interesting, I'll just try a few." Well, it's not possible to eat just a few of these -- they are phenomenal! So of course I had to finish the whole bag so that I wouldn't snack on them all weekend right? See, I knew you would agree with me. :(

That night I went to another movie with some friends. The Ugly Truth -- and the ugly truth is that I should have known better than to go to a Tavern afterwards. I didn't drink, but I did partake in Fried Pickles and Nachos.

Saturday did not fair any better. It was my son's 4th birthday and I was making a cake with REAL icing and pudding in the mix. Well you can't make icing without tasting it to make sure it's good. The mixers really don't clean up well if you don't lick them clean before putting them in the dishwasher. (I swear at this point I had lost it.)

So, I get the cake all iced and decorated, then it's time to cook dinner. My son wanted spaghetti for supper (a weakness of mine). Now normally I make it with Extra Lean Ground White Turkey meat, but since people were coming over for his birthday I went with Extra Lean Ground Beef. Not a bad choice, but not the best one. I usually use Whole Wheat Pasta, but I used the Smart Choice stuff instead, so it would look white. I also made rolls (these at least were whole wheat).

I didn't weigh or measure anything, and I had to taste it as I cooked so I could tell if it tasted OK. Now don't get me wrong, the meal was sooo good, but I ate far too much of it.

I am so mad at myself. I went from 146.4 on Wednesday to 153 this morning. I know a lot of it is water -- I had a ton of sodium, but it is so discouraging. Especially since I was at 134 this time last year! Ugh I have got to stop this!

    Don't let this get you down. Wipe the slate clean and start fresh. Now is a great opportunity to do that since August has just begun!

    You are not alone. My gain was this week. Some weeks are like that.
The trick is to have more weeks with a loss than a gain.
We can win at the weight loss game. Let go of the past and move forward to your future.

  I had a big gain last week too, and like you think a lot of it was water, but we both can do this, lose the gained weight and keep moving in the right direction. We can do this and we will do this! Both of us!

    Don't feel alone last week after TOM I got rid of a migraine with a bag of milk chocolate chips. We are human. As long as you logged it so you can see your mistakes.

    I bought a pack of 5 - 100 calorie snack packs of baked cheetos yesterday and I finished the box yesterday. so don't feel bad. You just have to seriously buckle down this week.

    Hey we all have a life to live too! I'm so happy to see you getting back on SParks and thats what matters!! Hey I really want to see G-force and the ugly truth!! Arethey good? Oh and at least you got the kids meal instead of a huge jumbo adult combo! Just keep trying and put yourself right back on track when you slide off sometimes! You can do this Kera!Happy B-day to your 4 yr old! Logan is gonna be 3 next year! Aren't kids amazing! there are only so many birthdays when they are young!Oh and how is Zumba? I'm heavier so I wasn't sure if I could keep up but have tthought about giving it a try!

    My weekend was aweful too!!! Went to the movies and ate 2 large bags full of popcorn. If i took the large one they refill it... So i did... Went and ate poutine and a hamburger, shared with my son but still ate the crap, then we had a 60th bday to go to with a milion things to eat. I gave into what i had brought... 7 layer dip with corn chips. Just marvellous to my taste, but aweful to my waist... And of course when you go to costco, you can't just buy one bag of enormous chips... they come in pairs. So i had more chips in the evening not counting the cheeses and desserts.

Anyways. I'm not beating myself up for it because i went to the gym just now and worked out really hard last week.

So please forgive yourself and just start over tomorrow morning or even right now! You have done amazing so far and you will reach your goal!

    Sounds exactly how my weekend went- I was around 148 thursday and back up to 153 today- I totally gave in this weekend and am so disappointed in myself. You would think that seeing the scale drop would make me want to eat less but nope I get this "invincible" feeling and start eating again. ugh all we can do is start again tomorrrow! good luck!

  I've done this so many times, you start eating something you shouldn't and your brain goes into rebel mode that can last days, well done for recognising it, don't let it get in the way, onwards and downwards!
