Well, I bought my gown!! I am a happy camper.
My Mom, sister & I went MOTB gown shopping today. We picked out about 20 gowns for me to try on. I tried on the first one (size 16) and even though it was too small, I loved it. It was exactly what I wanted. I felt totally elegant in it. It has a straight long (almost pencil) skirt with a slit up the back, anda beautiful fitted jacket with a jewel closing. It is made of silk/wool. I then tried on about 19 more and hated them all. They made me feel like an old lady. So I tried on the first one again and that was it. Then, I asked the price...yikes, it cost about 3 times more than what I thought I wanted to pay, but oh well!! Then my sister found jewelry for it, a necklace and earrings, swarovski crystals, no less... and I bought those too...lol!! My total (and I haven't even bought the shoes and purse yet) came to almost the same as my daughters wedding dress (which I am also paying for). Oh well, she is my first one (have two more to go), but I feel very good, very elegant, and not like the grandmother of the bride. I ordered in a size that fits me now, as the lady at the store wouldn't believe me that I was going to lose another 20-30 lbs before the wedding, and she said they have a fabulous seamstress who could take it in. So now I'm am more determined than ever to lose this weight to show her!!
On the way home, I also stopped at a homemade chocolate store and bought favours for the bridal shower (chocolate truffles), hence the 3 truffles (had to do a tasting!) on my nutrition tracker.
We did go out to lunch and I ate what I had planned, but had 1 and 1/2 glasses of white wine, not just one, but hey, I am still OK with calories/fat/carbs today!
Had a great day all in all, and am very happy to finally have my dress!
