Moving towards new goals!

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Well I've been using the Sparkpeople program for two years now and have shed most of my pounds. Now I'm focusing on the last few and I'm pumped. I took a Sparkbreak for a few months and maintained mostly. Now I’m mentally ready to do what it takes to achieve my next stage of personal goals. I want to weigh 135 lbs & begin train to become a long distance runner! If someone would have told me that I'd only be about 20 lbs away from that goal today I would have probably laughed in their face from disbelief. I never imagined that I would be able to do this. I used to wish that I had enough money to do some kind of bariatric surgery to help me lose the weight. I thought I would never achieve my goals on my own, and well, Sparkpeople proved me wrong. I know that I can achieve anything I put my mind to. I’ve been exercising consistently and haven’t even created a goal that was fitness based (always weight based) before so my long term goal is to run a marathon! I know that I can reach this goal by achieving it in small increments. So this week I’m going to start by working on running a non stop mile! From there I will work on running 4 miles and so on. I know I’m capable and I have plenty of tools and resources to help me along the way. I have strength, will power, determination, occasional self control, and most of all the support of millions of Sparkpeople members who are going through the exact same thing. I’ve already lost one hundred lbs and only have about twenty more to go. I know I can do this & for those of you who are struggling…Let me be the first to tell you… YOU CAN TOO!
