Starting over is difficult, and more so when you're injured. But, I've been watching what I eat this week. Last night, I roasted up some skinless chicken breasts and froze most of them. This evening I made myself a big salad and topped it with some of my chicken. DELISH! I'm packing more of the same for my lunch tomorrow. I've been managing to make myself a Vega Whole Food Health Optimizer shake for breakfast in the mornings. But, exercise has not been happening. Once the Doc saw my X-Rays on Tuesday afternoon, I was told my L5 vertibrae had slipped off my S1 and that it would be a 6 - 8 week healing process. She prescribed more Percaset, Celebrex and some muscle relaxants. I had a grueling hour massage yesterday (OUCH!!!) and this evening, I asked my Chiropractor if I could at least do some walking. He said I could walk - but for no more than a half hour on level ground (no hiking :(
It was raining when I got home, so no walk this evening. But, I am SO happy I can at least begin walking again. And my wonderful little dog will be happy to get back out walking, too. No more hikes at Edworthy Park (ground is too uneven and there are tons of hills to hike up and down), but at least I can take him out around the neighborhood for a half hour! Things are beginning to look up!!!
