Having Fun with P90x & my kids

Tuesday, July 07, 2009

Last night was Kenpo. While hooking and jabbing, I was also cracking up watching my three-year old watching me watching the tv and trying to copy the moves. Oh, so cute! And my seven-year old really rocked the kicks! By the time this 90 program is over, I think they will be more fit as well. They both especially love to hang on the pull-up bar and perform (assisted) pull-ups. While they can be a distraction at times, I love that I am providing a good example. I even bought 2 lb weights for my son to use. Hehe! Gosh, he is adorable!

The other great thing about this program is the energy. Each day I feel like I can accomplish more, which in turn increases my motivation. I am just loving it! And that works out well for the kiddos who usually see me very fatigued after working all day (sitting on my butt, of course!). Evenings are much more fun these days.

Thanks to everyone who recommended P90x, SparkPeople and my friends/supporters on SparkPeople. I am really enjoying the program and look forward to the results. 1 week down, 12 to go.

Wow, you are setting an amazing example for your kids. I can't imagine how cute they are "working out" with you. Family time and fitness -- yeah!!!

Teaching your kids good eating and fitness habits is a wonderful gift to give them. They'll be healthier adults for it! I don't know anything about this P90X thing ... will have to look it up. The weekend was not so good for me and I didn't exercise at all. I was at my parents' house Friday through Wednesday so I was pretty out of control. I did have a good time with family though and it's back to reality today.

    Great job,

I don't have kids yet but I am sure I will want to do p90x after I have a baby! Is a great idea to teach your kids healthy lifestyle!

Good job, I love watching my daughter whio is eleven workout with me too, although she hasn't tried P90X yet. Fut when we would Turbo Jam, she had moves that she thought she was doing correctly! They were pretty funny, but the main point is, she like to be active and so I am setting a good example. That is exactly what you are doing too!
