I have given advice to my daughter and to gf.. and many on here but it really comes down what works for you! my daughter is going on a vegatarian type life style( wont say diet) and if that works for her and she loses and is able to stay on that besides working out and all then thats great! We all find out what really is what works for us.. for me i go on treadmill almost every day and bike ride when i can.. also plan ahead on exercise and food and try eating little meals thru out the day biggest before dinner. Now thats what works for me.. I have lost 100 pounds or so and i plan on keeping it off for a long time to come.. ! Dont want to be lazy and think i still dont have to work hard to keep in shape.
So if your just starting out or been doing things and its not working.. try thinking what will work for you.. doing exercise in am?? or in evening.. should all be in a habit.. make good habits and they will last a long time!!
