Train up a child

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. I claim that scripture for my sons every day. Especially for the two that are in the military. Right now it is my youngest son, Paul, that is giving me grief. We bought an airplane ticket for him to come home on leave the 7 of July. This past weekend he was riding in a car that was involved in a hit and run accident that left some people injured. There were others in the car with him. But because they didn't get the driver to stop, they are all in trouble. This is not how we raised our sons. We taught them you stop and see if any one is hurt. Even if they were not involved. Not only that, but they were all marines, trained in first aid. Grrrr. Now, I don't know if he will get to come home, or if we will loose our money on the plane ticket. emoticon

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Alan so sorry for your troubles, but I'm sure you've raised them with the greatest convictions, but maybe Paul just needs grow into adulthood for a bit longer. I'm betting it had so much more to do with peer pressure than upbringing.
