2 New Features - Enhanced Weigh-In Page & Dining Out Guide

Hi everyone, we launched 2 new features today that we think you will like!

Enhanced Weigh-In and Measurements Page
While many of our members look a lot at the scale to measure their progress, many also like to watch their progress in other ways such as energy level, body measurements, or fitness levels. We have set up a number of other types of things you can track, with information on how to track and levels to try to reach. In addition, we have made it so that for some goals you can track progress more than one time a day. This has been a common request from members who track their blood sugar throughout the day! To see these changes go to your Weigh In page and click Add/Change Measurements.

Dining Out Guide
When eating healthy a common challenge is making the right choices when eating away from home. Our Dining Out Guide can help! We have a list of the most popular restaurant chains, and tips from SparkPeople for eating at each chain. Plus, we allow members to submit their favorite "Healthy Finds" from these restaurants, and for other members to vote for items they feel are healthy as well. You can find this feature under Healthy Lifestyle, then Nutrition, then in the center column of the Nutrition page.

UPDATE: There was a problem after this launched with weight loss tickers not updating. This was fixed on Thursday the 25th at around 10:30 AM EST, so if you track again it will update your ticker. Thanks for the comments about this issue!

    I had looked for a way to track my blood glucose levels and didn't find it. But later I searched and found an article with a link to the weigh-in page. Perfect! But how do I get there directly? I can't find it on the menu anywhere. I've put a bookmark in my browser, but is there anything on the sparkpeople site?

    (Later) Um, ok, right on the START page, which is the first item under MY TOOLS. I thought START was a tool for initial setup, but I guess it's really the HOME page. So now, I have IT bookmarked in my browser! Thanks for a great site.

    I use the dining out guide. It is a great asset. I also use to get the nutritional value for menu items. It has been a great help

    You guys are so awesome! Thank you doesn't do justice for how grateful I am for this entire site. And to think I'm still working on being consistent with my logging?! Yet the little that I have done has helped raise my awareness and committment so much!

    I am a newbie and this site has already given me SO much help & encouragement. I have only been on for one week and have lost 3 pounds, have worked out 5 times this week.

    Love the ability to track my Blood Glucose as I have been doing it in the Notes under Nutrition. Would it be possible for both the BG and blood pressure tracking to put a comment area for things that may have affected the results, i.e. birthday party, stressors, lack of sleep, illness. Thanks again for such a great tool. emoticon

    I like the latest improvements,but.............some of us don't measure the same on the right and left side of our body. I have a 4" difference between my R & L knee. Could you add R&L to some of the measured spots? Also could you put "custom" under each section instead of in it's own section so when it tracks on a report things are all in the same place. And finally,when you do customize allow it to choose day, week, or month, instead of just that line.
    I agree with others on the part that blood sugars need to have a place under each meal to fill in. It's required by some to take a reading before and after each meal. It would be quite helpful to the medical advisors to know what foods were eaten when the numbers changed.

    While I love these updates, I found that my weight ticker is not automatically updating when I change my weight at my weigh-in. Is this because of the new changes?

    Thank you so much for the enhancements. As a member of the Managing Diabetes team, I have been tracking my Fasting blood sugars on the weigh-in page. It is nice to know that I can now track my blood sugars throughout the day.

    Thanks for being able to track multiple blood sugar levels in a day but we need a comment field by each blood sugar level so we can input what meds or insulind we took after that reading.

    I really appreciate the new measurements (I had them in manually) as well as the Wellness boxes to tick - great idea.

    I'd also like to see a way for women who are menstruating to track that too... it definitely makes a difference in eating habits and measurements. Plus, if we saw our data on a graph over time, we can forgive ourselves a little more readily when we fall off the wagon "around that time."

    I input my blood sugar numbers, but the report is not really helpful. Is there a way we could get a more detailed graph, or possibly a printout with dates, times & numbers listed? It would be really appreciated. Linda

    That's great!

    I'm new, so reading this prompted me to make my first visit to the Weigh In/Measurements page. While most of what I saw will be really helpful, I was surprised that there wasn't an option for bust measurement. I did add it under "Custom," however the only choices for frequency are Once a Day, 1-5 Scale, and Multiple Times a Day. No Weekly or Monthly option. I'm interested in tracking changes in my bust, but not *that* interested ;)

    I like it but I would also like to see that once we write down our blood sugar numbers that we can later put these numbers on a line graph. My doctor likes that I record my numbers in the journal but he would like to see these numbers on a line graph.
