I just wanted to thank you all for your support. With things being so crazy lately I haven't been very good about thanking everyone individually, but I really do appreciate the support. And, today was our last day of school, so I should be able to keep up with things better now. I am trying to get back on track with my eating. I've been trying to watch portion sizes and drink my 8 glasses of water again. I haven't had great willpower with there being so many snacks around school lately, but at least that is all over now.
Now for my brags! My 11 year old was given a citizenship award at school last week for "displaying a positive attitude academically and socially throughout the year". It is something they do every month in the 3rd-5th grades. A few kids are chosen each month to be honored for showing good citizenship in some way. He was so happy to have been chosen, especially since this was the last one of the year. He came running down the block with the certificate waving in his hand. I was so happy for him!
My second brag is that both of my boys brought home straight-A's on their report cards today! This is the first time all year that my 11-year-old has received straight-A's, and I know he worked really hard for them. I could tell by the look on his face when I picked him up that he had gotten a good report card. He was so proud! I know it made him feel good to finally bring home straight-A's like his brother often does. I am especially proud of him for getting an A in math, because that is his most difficult subject. He started out the year with a B- in math and gradually brought it up, finally to an A!
Now, if I were getting a SparkPeople report card today it would certainly NOT show straight-A's, but I will work my way back up there just like he did!
