Stress Fracture & such

Monday, June 22, 2009

OK first of all it sounds WAYYY worse than it is. I can still walk without crutches and when I walk on my toes on that foot I don't feel any pain at all, So I'll be the one walking in High Heels at the next spark walk. I most likely did it when I went for my 4.5 mile run, there was a section that was a 30 degree or more angle and uneven, unpaved ground sloping down towards that foot. I got home and there was a little pain but no bruising or swelling. Got up Saturday for the Sat walk @ Luff and I had moderate pain at first but as I walked it sort of went away. So I got up for the early Sunday morning walk, Same story started to walk and it hurt, but manageable and as long as I kept moving it got a bit better. Then I took on a 7 yr old in 2 sprint sets and I could really feel it. Fit Pris suggested Icing it when I got home so I did and after that I could barely walk the rest of the day. HMK medical looked at it this morning Said I stress fractured my Cuboid (SP?) bone below my ankle and pretty much said to stay away from any heel- toe rolling activity for at least 2 weeks but there was nothing they could really do other than give me Ibuprofen. So any Ideas for a tip-toe walking or running Cardio?

I was wondering why you didn't come back for more walks, now I know why. You ran pretty well for being injured, though I must point out the old man kept up with you. Hope your foot is getting better!

Oh, I am so sorry. I'm sure it is uncomfortable. Be sure to not overdo it or you might end up with an even worse problem and be laid up even longer. That is easier said than done when you have young ones to care for. Take care of yourself and take it easy for a while. emoticon

I would think that High Heels wouldn't be the answer . I do know however that you beat the pants off of that 7 year old and everyone else that was running. Sorry to hear that you fractured your foot.
